 Parity is looking for an experienced, independent and self-starting Corporate Legal Counsel to join the Legal Team. Parity has an international group structure and in this new role, the Corporate Legal Counsel will have a particular focus on corporate law and take autonomous responsibility for corporate governance processes. The role will also offer the opportunity to expand into other areas of law in a tech and Web3 company.
 The ideal candidate will have trained with a reputable law firm; gained some prior in-house experience within a fast-paced international organisation or start-up (either in a permanent role or during a secondment); have solid experience in corporate law and corporate governance; and be passionate about Web3, blockchain and crypto.
 About the Position:
 As part of a close-knit, diverse Legal team consisting of three Senior Lawyers and a Legal Support Specialist, the Corporate Legal Counsel provides proactive legal support to all areas of the business. Key responsibilities include:
  Ensuring optimal corporate organisation, delivering company secretarial and governance support to key legal entities and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations
  Overseeing a comprehensive corporate administration, including preparation of board resolutions, meeting minutes, and regulatory filings
  Monitoring critical deadlines, coordinating legal workflows, and ensuring timely delivery of tasks.
  Advising on shareholder matters, including delegation frameworks and internal governance requirements
  Developing expertise and handling other legal matters as dictated by business needs including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts and legal agreements
  Providing accurate and timely advice to internal stakeholders, including senior management
  Applying effective risk management techniques and proactively addressing potential legal issues
  Communicating, negotiating, and managing relationships with external parties (e.g., service providers, partners, external counsel, or public authorities)
  Managing complex matters with multiple stakeholders
  Keeping up-to-date with industry and business-specific legislation and legal developments
  
 About you:
  You are a corporate lawyer with a minimum of 3+ PQE. You trained in private practice and already spent a minimum of 6 months in house in either a permanent role or in the form of a client secondment
  You have strong knowledge and experience of corporate law in the UK and EU and are also interested in developing expertise in other areas of law
  Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial software agreements and knowledge of IP, privacy and data protection are an advantage
  You are experienced or interested in enhancing your efficiency with legal and project management tools such as Docusign, Asana and Legal AI
  You are commercially aware, a strong communicator and calm under pressure
  You are self-motivated, accountable and able to work independently. You take ownership and deliver on projects, and you are excited to work in a relatively new industry and an uncertain regulatory environment
  Prior knowledge of blockchain would be an advantage, however an interest in and a desire to learn about blockchain, open source and decentralised systems will be the key to success in this role
