Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate Senior Protocol Architect/Researcher who deeply resonates with the ethos and philosophy of web3. You'll work closely with the Engineering team on designing and improving the core protocol, making sure it's secure and scalable under byzantine assumptions. The role requires deep understanding of distributed and byzantine fault tolerant systems and blockchains in general.
Responsibilities
- Design, spec and explain key elements of the protocol to other engineers.
- Participate in code reviews to make sure the implementation adheres to the spec/design.
- Document the system/protocol.
- Continually think of attack vectors and ways the system/protocol could be broken/exploited and ways to circumvent such attacks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional system design experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in byzantine fault tolerant systems, including blockchains and other distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of cryptographic principles.
- Passion for web3 technologies, decentralization, and peer-to-peer systems.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple way.
- Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams.
